Atlantis Cargo frequently manages the transport of animals on our national and international routes, following the highest standards of care so that they reach their destination in optimal conditions, always complying with the Regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Other important international organizations.

The most frequent shipments of live animals are chicks and poultry, pigeons, rabbits, hunting dogs, fish and pets. The acceptance of live animals is subject to the particular conditions of acceptance of the company, such as:

  • -For the acceptance of a shipment of AVI (live animals), it is necessary to make a prior reservation request to Atlantis Cargo (Contact) with a minimum of 24 hours prior to the flight departure.
  • -Delivery in cargo terminal (AVI and documents) must be made, with a maximum of 4 hours and a minimum of 2 hours prior to the flight departure.
  • -Animals to be transported must comply with the provisions of the C.I.T.E.S. Agreement on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, which seeks to preserve the conservation of endangered species of wild fauna and flora by controlling their trade.
  • -Bees or insects for pollination, only accepted upon request.
  • -Container / Transport:
    • 1. It must be appropriate for the type of animal to be transported.
    • 2. Must be able to keep the animal inside all the time.
    • 3. It must be able to support the weight of another load that could damage it or cause deformations in its structure.
    • 4. In general, you should allow the animal to remain standing, turn and lie down naturally.
All shipments of live animals must meet at least the following requirements:
  • - The animal must be transported in adequate hygienic conditions. For which it is necessary to have, within the carrier, a "blanket or cushion" to absorb possible spills of liquids.
  • - Maximum container dimensions: 100x60x80cms. (Special measures, with prior consultation).
  • - Provide a vaccination card, or certificate for the veterinarian's trip.
  • - Fulfill and complete the IATA checklist at the loading terminal.
